On November 14, 2023, our society marked World Diabetes Day in collaboration with Apollo Clinic and the Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Students’ Union.
Commencing at Apollo Clinic, participants headed towards a walkathon at the Dibrugarh University campus. The event featured a symbolic blue balloon launch, signifying a commitment to raising awareness about diabetes.
The inauguration and attendance of Hon’ble Dr. Prasanta Kumar Kakoty, Exam Controller cum Registrar In-charge of Dibrugarh University, added prestige to the occasion.
The awareness session, initiated by our society’s president, Dr. Subhajyoti Ghosh and secretary, Dr. Krishna Narayan Dutta Baruah, delivered their thoughts and views about the risks associated with diabetes and offered insights on protective measures and responses.
Subsequently, a screening and consultation session unfolded, where risk scores were calculated for attendees, even those without diabetes.
The event terminated at 2 pm, leaving a lasting impact about diabetes awareness on our attendees.
